    Principles of the new O/S

World 5.0 has, at its core, the simple ideas that Now is the only time there is, and our options for Now are fear or Love. With that central truth, we believe the transformation to a World 5.0 paradigm must conform to the general principles of Integrity, Justice and Balance.

Beyond that, here's a top ten list of what could be considered "a principled stance." We really can't expect any more from our leaders if we don't demand prinicpled leadership, whether in political or corporate arenas.

    1) We are all citizens of the same biosphere, and have a kindressness with and responsibility toward all other citizens. As such, each person has inalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

    2) We respect that we are creatures connected to space. The health of communities and ecosystems must take precedence over commercial and other special interests.

    3) We live on a planet of finite resources
. We are focused on a speedy migration from an "econocentric" to an "ecocentric" culture.

    4) We strive toward impeccable behavior
. We are less concerned with labels like Liberal or Conservative, and more concerned that government and industry act, even as we do, with integrity and transparency.

    5) We refuse violence, militarism and war as solutions.
The war economy of the 20th Century killed over a hundred million citizens, devastated innumerable communities and depleted huge resources that could have been better used to solve pressing human issues.

    6) We accept that the proper migration of data is from information to knowledge to wisdom. Without knowledge information is useless. Without wisdom knowledge is dangerous to us and every species on this planet.

    7) We recognize that the effects of our current culture are decimating species, threatening human health, and reducing our ability to thrive.
Further, we have a limited window of opportunity to act before facing global crisis or substantial ecological collapse.

    8) We acknowledge that growth-based economic models are no longer appropriate, and that a transition to a steady-state economy is required for a sustainable habitation of Earth
. If we wish to avoid boom and bust, inflation and deflation, honest dollar valuations, global currency stabilization, etc., we need to migrate to the steady state model.

    9) We recognize ourselves as agents of change
. The "enabling" of corporate greed and government corruption by we, the citizenry, must stop. We recognize that we must be more aware - of our ecological footprint, of how we vote with each dollar we spend, and of how important it is to stand up for our future - to truly enhence our experience and that of everyone and everything on this planet.

    10) We believe ourselves rational humans, that our ideas and judgments can be changed and modified based on evidence. This is a pretty basic assumption, but worth examining in these times of of such rancor among people of different opinions. How do we respond to information we disagree with? How do we feel about those with different beliefs and opinions? How do we feel about, say the response to Hurricane Katrina?

If this sort of thinking and these kinds of principles rock your world, please join us.
